About Explore Granada
Explore Granada is an independent, English-language travel guide dedicated to helping international visitors get the most out of their time in Granada. We cover everything from the city's UNESCO-listed monuments and historic neighborhoods to local restaurants, traditional dishes, and practical travel tips.
Our mission
Granada is one of Andalusia's most remarkable cities — home to the Alhambra, the Albaicín and the Realejo, and some of the best free tapas in Spain. Most of the good writing about Granada is in Spanish or French. We're here to give English-speaking travellers that same depth of local knowledge in their own language.
What we cover
We publish detailed guides on:
- Monuments & heritage sites — history, visiting hours, ticket prices, and tips for beating the crowds at the Alhambra, the Nasrid Palaces, and beyond.
- Neighborhoods — character guides to the Albaicín, the Historic Centre, Realejo, Sacromonte, and more.
- Restaurants & bars — honest recommendations for where to eat plato alpujarreño, salmorejo, and rabo de toro without the tourist-trap price tag.
- Activities — from flamenco shows and Arab bath experiences to cycling tours and day trips to the Sierra Nevada.
- Practical travel info — when to visit, how to get there, what to budget, and how to navigate the city like a local.
Independence & accuracy
Explore Granada is not affiliated with any official tourism authority, hotel group, or commercial operator. We write for travelers, not for advertisers. Opening hours, admission prices, and booking details change frequently — we do our best to keep information up to date, but always recommend verifying critical details directly with venues before your visit.
